There is nothing worse to imagine than planning an amazing trip and getting hurt on it. You spend a lot of money and time planning the perfect getaway, but when other people don’t take your safety seriously, you can end up getting hurt.

Cruise ships are great for getting away, but there can still be accidents. When ships dock, they could collide with the dock or other ships. In worst-case scenarios, people could be badly hurt by a collision.

Personal injuries can result from many different kinds of situations, but this is one of the more unusual cases. According to the news out of Miami on Dec. 20, two Carnival Cruise Lines ships collided with one another in Cozumel, Mexico, leading to injuries to six passengers on board.

The news states that the Carnival Glory collided with the Carnival Legend and just narrowly avoided hitting the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship Oasis of the Seas. The crash happened as the Glory was maneuvering to dock. The other two ships were already docked at the time.

Looking at images posted online, two decks, at least, were damaged on the rear of the Glory. Fortunately, the damage wasn’t suspected to stop the ship from sailing. Six passengers did report minor injuries as a result of the impact.

If you are hurt while you’re on a cruise ship, remember that you have the right to pursue compensation for your personal injury. You entrusted others with your safety on board, and you should be able to hold them responsible if you are not kept safe as a result of their actions.
